Word of Mouth

Word of Mouth was developed by the American Lung Association of Ohio. Word of Mouth is a tobacco prevention program that is targeted to 4th and 5t grade students. There are four sessions that last approximately 45 minutes each. Topics covered in the sessions are as follow: health effects of smoking, decision making skills, refusal skills, and goal setting.

Locally, Word of Mouth is taught at various participating schools throughout Knox County.

Empower Your Child to Make Healthy Choices About Tobacco

Give your 4th and 5th graders the knowledge and skills they need to resist tobacco use. Our four-session program builds decision-making abilities and refusal skills while teaching important health facts about smoking.
