Housing Support Program

The Freedom Center’s Housing Support Program provides comprehensive assistance to help community members secure and maintain stable housing. Through education, financial assistance, and direct support services, we work to remove barriers to housing and promote long-term housing stability.

Independent Knox Housing Course

A specialized 4-week course designed to help participants navigate the local housing market successfully.

Course Details:

  • Meets every Wednesday, 3:30 – 4:30 PM
  • Located at Knox Public Library (201 N Mulberry St)
  • Free to attend

Financial Assistance Programs

When funding is available, we offer financial support for:

  • First month’s rent and security deposits
  • Utility deposits and connection fees
  • Past-due rent assistance
  • Housing application fees

Note: Financial assistance is subject to funding availability and program eligibility requirements.

Our dedicated housing specialists provide:

  • One-on-one support in finding suitable housing
  • Connection to income-based housing opportunities
  • Assistance with housing voucher applications

We are committed to making stable housing accessible to everyone in our community. All services are provided free of charge and are available to Knox County residents. Priority may be given to individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.
