With the help of a 2023 Winter Grant from Food For The Hungry, The Freedom Center is able to launch a hunger relief project to provide emergency food access and bulk-buy snacks to feed about 800+ people in Knox County. The project started on December 8th of 2023, and it will continue until June 30th of this year.
For over 46 years, The Freedom Center is dedicated to serving the evolving needs of the community. Afet Kilinc, the Executive Director of The Freedom Center, emphasizes the growing need for essential food support in Knox County.

About The Freedom Center
Founded in 1977 as an alcoholism center, it has since evolved into a multifaceted organization offering comprehensive services, including prevention, intervention, case management, outpatient, and intensive outpatient programs for substance use disorders and mental health.
